It appears that several have been able to find a use for the Corvette Gallery. I put it up recently to see if it works out. I think it is working out. I just checked it out and there are several photos of amazing corvettes put up there. If you do not know about this gallery yet, I created it so forum members can upload their pics of their vettes on another website so they can copy it there and bring it here to the forums. If you are looking for a parking place for your photo to bring it over here, please by all means, use the site I created. All corvette makes and models are welcome. The site was created ONLY for the purpose of posting pictures easily here in the Corvette Forums and in no way is it to deviate any discussion from here. Thanks and I hope the gallery helps you get your photos up!!!!! Here is the link: http://groups.msn.com/BlackvettesCor...llery/home.htm
Does anybody know the owner of that red Z with the blackouts?
I want to know where he got the side markers and center rear light black.
Very cool gallery
I will see if I can pinpoint the owner. It may be difficult as I do not know if this person saw the gallery here on the Z06 board or stumbled across it on MSN.
UPDATE: I have located the e-mail address of this person and have contacted him by e-mail. I don't want to give out the address as this person may not want it released. I sent him a link to this thread and hopefully he will come back with an answer!

Well that would be me
I got the full set of blackout lens covers from zappedman@hotmail.com for $97. He sells them a-la-carte also if you only want specific pieces. Also in 30% or 50% opacity (that is a word, isn't it? it's how much light they let through). I got the 30% and think they're plenty dark enough.
Thanks theblackvette for the kudos (or should I call you maaa?) - wait'll you see it when I get my black 19/20 Z06 Motorsports on and the lower rear fascia painted black and SLAMMED...
THANKS 1hotZ06 for checking in and giving us an update.
How do you install these covers? Is it difficult?
How much darker are the 50%?
Also, would they look okay on a BLACK Z06??????????????
THANKS AGAIN!!!!!
Installation of covers... large rear brake light covers have screw holes pre-drilled. Unscrew stock covers, place blackout lenses over them and screw back on. 3rd brake light cover, reverse light covers and rear side covers just stick on with double sided 3M tape (provided). Front turn signal covers are a bitch - they are tricky to fit in place and have sharp edges (careful of that paint!) but I eventually got 'em in.
I stuck with the 30% dark as opposed to the 50% to maximize the brightness of the lights and (hopefully) avoid issues with the local law enforcement. I think they look plenty "black" enough. Before I bought them I researched the New York DMV regs and couldn't find anything explicitly outlawing them here, unlike window tinting for instance which can't be more than 30% or additional lights (like neon :nono: ) which aren't allowed at all. I installed them in late November and have only had the car out 4 or 5 times since (this is Buffalo after all!) and so far no problems with the law.
And of course they'd look  on a black Vette!
One more thing, theblackvette, how do I link to pix on the gallery from a post here? What's the url of the pix hosted there? THANKS!!!
Thanks for your reply! I have the current URL that will take you from the forums straight to your pictures posted in the gallery. Keep in mind that your pics are located currently on "Page 4" of the pictures section. As more pictures get uploaded your pics may end up on a different page. But as for right now the URL to your pics is : http://groups.msn.com/BlackvettesCor...ox.msnw?Page=4
Thanks for the 411 on the black outs. I think I better stick with the 30% as I don't want to get pulled over by the COPS! :)

Hi again theblackvette!
Sorry I wasn't clear enough with my question... I know the url of the gallery, the question is how do I link directly to a specific picture on the gallery to get that picture to show up in a post? I looked at the http source for this thread and the url of my delivery day picture you put in a previous post is:
1. Go to the picture in the gallery you want to bring to the forums.
2. RIGHT click on the picture.
3. Click on PROPERTIES
4. HIGHLIGHT the URL listed. And then RIGHT CLICK. Then click on COPY (You have to highlight the entire link. Sometimes the link is long and it will scroll down a little while you are highlighTing it. Then click on OK.
5. Come on over the the Corvette Forums and paste the link between the two IMG tags.
[img]paste[/img]
Let me know if you get this. It is tricky at first but you will get the hang of it!
