Default new z06 owner

After months of research I finally decided on a z06 last week.. I took a beautiful black 04 home yesterday :hurray:

I can't stay out of the car for some reason..and I've had sports cars before..but this one just seems different.

Anyway, I've ordered a CAGS override for it as my first mod. Anything anyone else recommends?

Also, I've got some bugs on the grille already and some overspay on the wheel wells where they went a little crazy with the armor all

How do you guys recommend getting stuff like this off? I don't want to screw up the paint.

Thank you.

There is a car care section for waxing washing, you will get a better response there.

Let the mods begin.

Thanks for all your replies.

Definitely need some radar detection.

I was thinking about doing some engine mods in this order:

long tube headers (possibly borla stingers too)

hotter cam

super charger (a long way down the road, heh)

Welcome and congrats on the new purchase!! Just do a search here on the forum. There have been a lot of posts about first mods. As for myself, I did some quick cosmetic things like installing side and rear vent screens and changing out the stock headlight bulbs which are absolutely horrible. After that, I purchased a vararam air intake. I'm still waiting for that one to arrive in the mail. Good luck, and again, welcome.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum! Sounds like you have the right ideas on mods, judging from your two posts. Consider an air intake system too. Aside from the two mentioned already, I'd not hesitate to recommend the Vortex Ram Air. Enjoy the car's great performance but be safe. Keep us updated on your mods and let's see some photos of that puppy! :hurray:

One question:

Are you already bored of the car after one day and need more power?

You are sure quick to get mods such as headers......

I'm not exactly bored already, I'm just trying to let it sink in that I own such an awesome car. The only burning issue for me right now is the CAGS..You really look like a gimp in traffic going into 4th at 15mph, but that will soon be fixed.

I guess there will always be a want for more power. I drove a 2.0 litre car that made around 120HP per liter before the vette, so I'd at least like to get the vette up to around 450RWHP (That is still way under 100HP per litre).

Just a little more HP, and a little louder :smash: :chevy

Sorry for the lack of artistic overtones, I'm trying to clean a little and keep cool at the same time :smash:

I have a limerock driveway :(

It's always going to look like that in the garage. The dust is gone pretty fast once I get onto the road :steering:

Intake, exhaust (Borlas are awesome...they turn heads when you rev it but not to much drone ar highway speeds), Headers (LG longtubes, but they are loud so you may want to consider keeping the stock exhaust to compensate some), cam and s/c. Thats the ticket :smash:

Congrats on the Vette....enjoy that puppy... :seeya

Take it for what its worth but I have read posts that a cags eliminator
Has caused some warrenty issues.Seems like if you get unlucky and have a prob with the tranny the dealer can possibly try to use the cags against you.
If you rev it past 3500 it wont shift to 4th.
