Default The reason I asked about jacking pads

Guys,

OK I am not going to change my own oil and have not since I bought my first vette 6years ago. The dealership I take it to his very good and let me drive my vette in and out of the bays and let me stand by while they work. I asked them and they do not have these pucks but the small flip up metal piece like you see on most lifts these days. This is the reason why I asked about the pucks. The pucks seem to give me the added assureance that no possible harm could come to lifting my Z for the oil change. I do not at all mind spending the money for good ones.

Chuck

Hi Chuck, I recently purchased the billet aluminium lifting pads from Corvette Central they were about $60.00 including shipping. They are very nice and provide adequate protection when lifting your Z06 if the dealer doesn't have them I would recommend you get some. They click in under the car near the edges on the front and back or your doors underneath. Hope this information helps. Hank

I bought the "expensive" ones about 5 years ago. They were about the only ones available then. I carry them with me at all times, just in case. Not sorry I spent the money on the good ones. They give me peace of mind.

Any difference between the billet aluminum and rubber ones?

Chuck, I haven't used the rubber ones, a friend has the plastic ones that click in and can either be left in or taken out, he likes them offered to let me try them, but I decided to get my own. Others on the forum talk about using hockey pucks and seem to like them. Sorry can't help you much with info on the rubber ones. Hank

You can get some really nice pucks from BMW that fit perfectly into the slot and can be left on permanently w/o any worry of clearance issues. They are around $7-8 each. Check with BMW before you go with the others.
