It is bubbled for aerodynamic reasons, ala "the rx7" It goes along with the dip in the hood, and if you look close enough you will see a slight indent in the middle of the back window, I would hate to have to pay to replace that thing :eek:

I think that if you go back many others before Zagato used the concept for various mechanical components. Also while aerodynamically shaped the main purpose was to increase headroom, underhood room, or suspension room. The carss Zagato did were so low it was the only way a driver and/or passenger could sit in the vehicle was through utilizing the bubble.
