Can't say much about the 6TH gear in the Vette with 4.11 :nonod:
not sure what you mean
I did 200 with 4.10s.
With 3.42s, my car topped out under 190.
Guess I should have been more specific. I have not had 4.11'S in my Z. So I don't know how they perform with the six speeder box. But I see you answered that for everyone.
You’re the first that I have read about on CF that went past 176 with 3.42'S. And then you went over that at 200 with 4.11'S?
I have 4.09s but theyre going out very soon. Its not a c5 but i think theyre too steep. Redline wasnt affected much because of the 7700 rpm redline so it was still 190 or so mph in fifth. But trust me its not fun driving aggressively on street tires with a gear like that. spinning first, second third and shiftinginto 4th is no fun. :( Im going back to a 3.73 m one other reason is just crusing around town. sometimes i get lazy and go from 2nd to 4th because first and second revv up too fast and i get annoyed shifting so much when im trying to relax.
Did you ever get your wheel problem situated out with I forged. Is the picture in your sig the photochpped one or the real one. That is one of the baddest c4s I've seen. I love that car
Your 20 inch back wheels will make a 4.10 gear seem like a 3.90. I have 02 Z with a few light mods, a 4.10 gear with BFG drag radials This could take me to redline in 4th gear at 127 mph. If I put on a blower, then I'd put in a 3.90
Actually my 20's diameter is almost identical to the stock FI. The stock FI's diameter is 26.1". My Conti sport II is 26.2". So I dont think that would make any difference. Although I could be wrong.
thanx vette threat :) yeah i did have to fair quite a while liek everyone else but when i got them the offsets on the rears were wrong. Believe it or not it only took about 2 weeks to have the rears back fixed. Even though i know iforged has their issuses, im simply amazed with these wheels. i cant stop :D
I dont have the motor and tranny/exhaust too in the car right now so its kinda high but heres a few pics of them on it right now.....
It sits real high but when everything is back in the rear should be about 1 inch lower and the front about 3 1/2 or so from what it looks like in the pics.
About the gear too... if youre planning on using any type of drag radial or slick.. then go steep as possible. i dont know if its just me but i kinda miss that long long hard push in the seat. With the 4.09s it seems like im riding my bike shifting so quickly. it takes more concentration for sure as when i first got them put in i got real familiar with the rev limiter!
thanx for the compliments guys :)
Get that motor put in and slam that thing. I love that admiral blue, post some pics when its done!! To bad we dont live closer to each other, we'd have to do a weekend trade :yesnod:
I swapped my 2.97 first gear Z06 trans for the 2.66 first gear trans from a coupe. It's a much closer ratio gear set than the Z06 set. If you can find one of these gear boxes you will like it.
