Wow my first topic post. :D
I have an 02 Z lowered with the longer bolts out back and removed screws up front.
I don't like the fact that the front leaf spring moves around when I turn at low speeds, something you can hear and feel. As a result I want to put the screws back on and at the same time I want to go lower.
How do coil overs work on our cars?
Where do they install?
Can you select the height level or is just one setting?
How much and where?
Will they clear my 20x11s in the back or will they rub?
Ride?
Sorry for all the question but this is something I really want to do and don't have a lot knowledge about.
Thanks a millon.
Dan
I have coil overs on my car and have had them on the majority of my vettes. They are a simple bolt in. I have referred several members to craig at West Coast Corvette. If your going to slam the car like mine they have a custom 2" shorter shock body made witrh springs for increased travel. With T1 bars I literally get the wind sucked right out of me in the corners. I am trading my stock z seats for the Corbuea seats to stay planted. I HIGHLY recommend them for the street. Most people who say they arnt for the street have never even owned them so dont liste,. WCC, DRM AND LGM all sell them for the street. That should say it all. If you want race car hendeling, get them! :yesnod:
Thank you for the info. Actually you're the reason I'm doing this I never thought you could get a Vette so low before I saw yours.
After seeing some of the sites you mentioned I learned some but not enough.
How do I know what spring rate to use and also how do I determine ride height?
Are the T1 bars giving you the rough ride or is it mostly the coils?
Do I have to have T1 bars.
Thank you for your time and info.
Dan
bro! your MS is the best looking z06 yet.
What size wheels and tires are you running?
What's the total cost of t1 suspension upgrade?
Is T1 suspension upgrade a DIY?
I have Rippie coil overs modified by West Coast Corvette for a 2" shorter shock body and spring for increased travel. T1 sway bars, poly bushings baer bump steer kit. The total cost was about 3k and well worth it. The car is azznine in the corners and will suck the breath righ out of you. WCC did all the work. I'm running the 19/20" set up from WCC as well.
