3M Clear Bra Tape

Sorry folks, I posted this on the C6 Z06 Board.

I am new member. I live in the Los Angeles Suburbs and have just take delivery on a new 2004 Z06 Black/Black. The first thing I did was to take it in "on a flat bed" to an auto accessories shop, and had the "Clear Bra" which is a 3M tape put on the nose, side view mirrors and the back side of the wheel wells. The guy did a great job and othe than a thin line, you really can't tell. The tape is easily removed and will not have a UV fade effect, according to 3M. My question is; has anyone had any experience with this product or long term effects?
BTW, the antenna is the next thing to be replaced. Recommendations?

I have the xpel (also 3m product) on my 01 z06. It started to yellow a bit after 20 months and 30k miles, visable under flouresent light only. So I sent it back to them and they replaced it. I had to pay to get it installed.

Other than that I like it alot.

Thanks, mine is an XPEL as well. They claim the imperfections of stretching will go away in a couple of weeks. We'll see! Still better than rock chips! It cost me $600.

Antenna, I replaced my with the power one fom Ecklers Kit. I'm a half crippled old fart, took me 1 1/2 hrs. Piece of cake. Compedent mechanic, maybe 40 mins tops.

Congratulations on the new purchase. Your foresight in regard to the surface protection will serve you well. I have read great information on this forum pertaining to cleartastic which is similar to your choice.

By the way, I just ordered the power antenna and bracket from GMParts Direct and both are on their way via shipping. There was a previous post on this subject in the C5 General Discussion. Detailed instructions for installation were also conveyed.

The business name is Ultimate Auto Care and the owner's name is Sean Heiland. This guy is as **** retentive as you would hope. His number is 714-412-4851 near fullerton California. She has 149 miles on her and as she is sweet.
