I just bought a 2004 Z06 and noticed that the lug nuts had no lock. Is this normal? My 1997 Camaro came with locking lug nuts, and so did my 1995 corvette.
Are locking lugs some sort of option, or just not offered?
Thanks,
-Dave
Also, how many here are paying as much for thier car per month as they are for thier house?? :)
that is because they were horrible to take on and off (yes i know that is idea). also they got rid of the little caps that went over them in late 2002 i wish i could find the bulletin for it cause my dealers says he can get me free ones if i find it...
My '02 Z06 did not come with locking lug nuts. I purchased and put them on myself.
If you decide that's what you want to do, I would like to recommend that you purchase your locking lug nuts from a Chevrolet dealer. They have the McGard lug nuts that are hour glass-shaped, rather than barrel-shaped. That makes the locking lug nuts the same weight as the other four lug nuts, so it doesn't contribute to tire-wheel imbalance. I would also like to suggest that you mount your locking lug nuts on the stud that is opposite of the valve stem. It makes for a very symmetrical appearance.
