That really depends on the dealer that is working on your car. My dealer told me that headers would not void the engine warranty. Only things directly related to the header such as blown header gaskets or other exhaust issues.
Check with your dealer and see what they say. If they have a dedicated corvette tech; speak directly to him since his is the one that will be making the claims if something were to happen.
Read the warranty, or call GM. Nobody on this forum will honor the warranty, so why bother to ask. The dealer doesn't call the warranty shots either. If you are afraid to call GM because you are worried about what their answer would be, you shouldn't do it.
I'll give you a hint. Any problem the header causes will be repaired at your cost.
my gm dealer is a jew
sure he'll tell me that if you replace the rearend, it only voids the rearend warranty (or whatever), but when it comes time for him to fix it...God only knows
screw em, im installing my stuff anyhow

Just a little curious what being Jewish has to do with a warranty?
:smash:
GG
i apologize if the jewish thing offended anyone. i just love to play off of stereotypes. i always find myself making references to jews, rednecks, etc., but i dont really mean anything hostile by it :D
im sure that someday im going to make some type of comment about someone being a jew and the person im talking to will be like, "well, my great grandfather was in aushwitz..." then i'll feel like a real ****!
but until then...
:jester
peace
Ryne Z06:
Who has the best price for LG TPIS "JetHot" coated for a '02 Z06.
I am in Long Beach, Peoples Republik of Ka, and I would like a local vendor if possible.
i got my LG's from A&A corvette,"andys", he has them in stock, he pretty cool to talk to also
Just Headers??? So what happened to the H/C that you told Cameron you had on the Z06??? So I also take it that the 10.60 and the fact that you work with andy's is also a lie.. LOL...
Of all you Cali guys putting long tubes on, will it pass smog? I was told by West Coast Corvette that they flow too much air and will not pass, but I would like to hear it from someone who actually did it? I would love to put on a set, but don't want to deal with the smog hassle. Let me konw.
hey, i mentioned my dealer earlier, well here's proof.
somehow i guess when i installed my headers and off road pipes, i got the simulators hooked up to the back o2 sensor wiring and the o2 sensors hooked up to the front o2 sensor wiring. well, this caused an error code, obviously. but since at the time i did not know this was the problem, i took my car into the dealer because the check engine lite came on. after i awoke from my nap in the waiting area ("would you like to wait on your car?" "sure, why not!") i rousted up my service guy to find my car and he says...(you can guess) "they're just finishing it up right now as a matter of fact!" so long story a little shorter... they cant do any work on the exhaust (illegal) because no cats--which i understand completely, here's the kicker--"that'll be 86 bucks for us reading your error code. WTF?! i could have o'reilly's do that for free. what a bunch of freaks. you would think that buying at least one, and sometimes two cars from them a year would give me a little clout and a little leeway, but NOPE
oh well,
peace out
RyneZ06: The answer is a resounding NO! Installing aftermarket headers WILL NOT void ANY part of your warranty!!!
First and foremost, if you have a problem with a warranty claim at any dealership, very calmly ask them if they are aware of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. That will throw them off balance.
In a nutshell, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act states that a warranty claim cannot be denied simply because non-stock parts were used. The manufacturer must PROVE that it was the aftermarket part that caused the problem. So, if you install headers and something then happens to your car that requires warranty work, the manufacturer must prove that it was the headers that caused the problem before they can deny the claim.
Secondly, dealerships do not make decisions regarding warranty claims...the manufacturer does. Your warranty is backed by the manufacturer, not the dealership. If a dealership attempts to deny a warranty claim, go straight to the regional Chevrolet representative.
I have an "agreement" for lack of better terms with my dealer, service manager and head service writer (who handles the warranty processing). Let's just say if anything breaks, it's understood my car is "bone stock" :D

There is fantasy, and there is reality. This is fantasy. Yes this act does exist, and it does says what this individual says. The reality is that the manufacturer will not do the work as warranty if they feel the headers caused the problem, and you will have to take them to court to get them to comply with the act. Surely jw38 doesn't think that you are going to tell GM what they can do, and can't do, and imagine that they are going to bow, and say "yes sir".
If the headers caused the problem, you will not only have to pay your legal fees and the cost of repair, but you will have to pay GM's legal fees. Are you ready for that?
