The problem is that the Head Up Display unit works in concert with a special windshield so it isn't just a matter of adding the unit itself. The top of the dash and windshield will have to be replaced.
Incorrect, you can add HUD to any windshield. The difference is the reflection is not as clear, it is good just not as precise as a hud windshield. You might have wanted to post this in the tech or general discussion area. There are ALOT of guys who have done this.

I stand corrected. My impression was that the windshield is specific to the use of the HUD. While another will work, it will not fully duplicate the HUD-specific unit. I also agree that the question should be posed in the tech section.
You need the Hud projector and an gauge panel that has the connector pin on it, the cable that goes from the gauge pins to the Hud unit. There is a control unit and cable that mounts on the left side of th dash and then to the projector. You will also need the bezel that you use to trim the hole in the top of you dash. You can cut the hole yourself the location is pressed into the dash. As for the windshield there is a special unit, however there are chaps on the forum that have do it and not had a bit of problems with the stock windshield. If the search function is up try using that there have been several successful HUD additions done with no major heart attacks. Wish Icould help you more but I never did it, I got HUD stock and would not be without it.
