Actually with the C5 the parking brake is a drum setup on the inside of the rear wheel hub, so it's fine to set it. Now with a car that clamps the rear rotor this is a NO NO :nono: because the pad can fuse the the rotor and make problems.

Someone said not to re-check the lugs when the hub is hot, but I check mine for safety before every couple of sessions.

Some things I saw that I disagree with.
At a minimum run 10w 30. Many people run heavier.
About running with the heater on...um, not necessary IMO, unless you are having trouble keeping your coolant temp down. Add water wetter to your coolant system, especially if you are running straight watter. Use your AC while idling after a run, it automatically kicks in your second fan...DONT FORGET TO TURN IT OFF BEFORE YOUR RUN/RACE. You can also install a switch to turn your fans on.

good point about checking tire pressure, I start 30 psi cold, then take it down in the afternoon if it's hot outside, like to 28-29

Here is what we do in our Posse before a road race:

1. General walk around look for damage & fluids leaking.
2. Tire Pressures
3. Tire Condition
4. Brake Pads F/R thickness 75% or greater (track dependent)
5. Rotor Condition
6. Debris clear of front radiator intake area
7. Brake Pedal Travel correct
8. Brake Fluid level & color
9. Clutch Fluid level & color
10. Oil Level --> add 1 qt above Full as per OEM
11. Oil Change Interval greater than 50% (personal preference)
12. Windshield Washer level low to prevent "G-Load splash" in turns)
13. Lug Nuts torqued to 100 ft lbs.
14. Check torque on front and rear suspension parts
15. Protective Racer Tape over "Debris Sensitive Areas"
16. Last area where maintenance performed recently, check for tightness.
17. On jacks look for damage / leaks / loose wires, etc.
18. Coolant Level
19. Battery Secure
20. Shocks no leaks
21. All Vehicle Lights (especially brakes) ops checked

Enjoy!

A little off topic, but falls in track prep down the line.

Remember this the more DE's you do the faster you will get. (No money on mods needed, just money for more seat time.)

The faster you get the hotter your oil temps and trans temp will get.

When you are at that level an oil cooler is going to be needed. Easy to tell how experienced a person is by the oil temps they run.
