[Z06] Track tonight...
Not to bad. my first time in my z was 13.2 109mph, I was happy with that. Like the others will tell you it's all about getting used to your new machine. The cars we own are set up for driving not drag racing and real hard launches. Ask "Ranger" he has a link that takes you right to "Z06 Launch Techs" Good info. I'll try again soon and I'm sure my times will be better. But still racing for me is all about fun not the lowest E.T. for the fastest mph. Have fun and be Safe! Hemmerman :flag :flag :flag
Please keep in mind that the techniques for launching a traction-limited car and keeping the tires hooked on the shifts are not obvious and require practice. That means seat time. So be patient and have fun.

Thanks for the info Ranger-very helpful indeed :yesnod:

My next time was very different. See my sig for the stats. You have to learn to drive these beasts!

My next run was my fastest at 12.73 but I missed 4th gear and went through at 108, with a 2.09 60' time. So if I hadn't of messed up I think the car would have been through at around 12.5-65 which would have been great.
I only got 3 runs in so I will probably go to Sacramento next time...
How do you miss 4th????? :leaving:

ET and trap speed are not directly related. To demonstate the point here are 15 passes I ran in sequence on the same day....
11.568 @ 117.94 on a 1.684 60'
11.651 @ 118.44 on a 1.728 60'
11.755 @ 117.80 on a 1.805 60'
11.707 @ 119.46 on a 1.704 60'
11.640 @ 118.16 on a 1.693 60'
11.715 @ 117.73 on a 1.752 60'
11.700 @ 118.04 on a 1.743 60'
11.778 @ 119.46 on a 1.797 60'
11.748 @ 119.38 on a 1.777 60'
11.726 @ 117.53 on a 1.774 60'
11.719 @ 117.49 on a 1.722 60'
11.742 @ 116.97 on a 1.756 60'
11.763 @ 116.87 on a 1.735 60'
11.766 @ 117.05 on a 1.776 60'
11.786 @ 116.99 on a 1.756 60'
You can have a great trap without a great ET. Depends shifting at highest possible rpm but avoiding the limiter, even on a less than ideal 60'.
Traps are also affected by the density altitude. Better the air, the better the trap speed. My car (with only mod of CAI and DR) has runs some in the 120.XX.
