Well, after years of no problems something happens. I'm driving the Z today, stop at a store to get a drink, crank up the car & the 'check engine' light comes on and stays on. The car runs just fine, but I still want to see what the problem is. Before I'm off to the friendly dealer  I wanted to see if anyone here might have any ideas as to what may be wrong.
Mark,
Great car! I too have a 01 Torch Red w/ Mod red interior Z. I just put on the door sills yesterday and I get asked if it is a 03 with the chromes all the time. My Z did the same thing last weekend, and the dealer told me to check the air filter, as in NC we are having a very bad spring for pollen. The air filter was in bad shape with the nice yellow pollen, so I replaced it with a K & N filter and cleared the DIC. No issues since. Now if Ecklers can ship my seat covers to protect my seats I will be set... untill the next mod
Great car and great site and I see the members are helping out.

Thanks! I checked the air filter. I have a Blackwing & it appears to be clean (Ireally don't drive the Z that often; only 3500 miles so far!) I'm going to check the codes, make a note of them, clear them & see what happens. I checked the codes last night & there was only one that was current & it had something to do with the HVAC system. The rest were 'H' codes. I guess I should remove the filter & clean it anyway, as we had a hell of a pollen season here as well.
I've also read that a loosely sealed gas cap will cause the Check Engine Light to come on. Try tightening your cap first the next time - hopefully that'll work.
