I pulled over to make a cell phone call. I had to shut the engine off because my phone was in the glove compartment (locked). So I started the car again and sat there with the engine idleing while I talked. After I was done, I started to drive and suddenly the engine just quit and there was a message in the Info Center that said "Remove key for 10 seconds".
What the heck was that?
After I did this, I put the key back in and the car started and ran fine.
Is this like a Microsoft Windows Cntl-Alt-Delete thing here?

If you turn the key twice before the column lock has had time to cycle, that will happen - it wants a "reboot" so it can figure out what position the lock is in.

TheVetteNet: Thanks for the info.
So from your response I assume nothing abnormal happened, I just must have switched the key on twice or too fast or something.
That's my guess - it's documented in the manual. If the computer can't figure out what position the lock is in, it will cut the fuel, the same as it's supposed to do if you try to drive with the column locked.
