My drivers side Ti muffler has failed. It sounds as though a baffle has come loose inside the muffler. A hollow tinny sound results at certain rpm's and motor loads.
Extended GM warranty would not cover it. I am now looking for a used Ti cat back system.
I believe mufflers are one of the few things not covered by the GMPP or any other service contract. They really are a wear out item just like brake pads, rotors, light bulbs, etc.

Regular steel mufflers, I agree. But titanium mufflers do not wear out or corrode, ever.
This is clearly a manufacturing defect with one of the welds that holds the baffles in place inside the muffler. I know welding titanium is very tricky, but still, this shouldn't happen.
Maybe it's a sign that you need some Stingers
Or maybe some Bullets.
Picked up a low mileage set of Titanium cat backs from a fellow Forum member today. He lived within 45 minutes of my home. They are in awesome condition. He even spent his valuable time doing some serious polishing on the tips. They almost look chrome. I had a local shop install them in less than an hour.
The only bad part is that it is raining today so I have not yet enjoyed the wonderful and all familiar scream to red-line.
