[Z06] water leak?

water leak?
i just noticed today, on my '01 Z06, that i had some standing water in the compartment over the passenger side rear wheel well...we had heavy rain for two days recently. has anyone ever had this problem before?

:cry Sorry to hear about your problem but I think it will only get worse as time goes by. I have a 99 FRC and have been battling GM on this for months. The dealership here has stopped my leaking so far but I always hate to look in the back after washing or heavy rains. The problem occures because the epoxy that bonds the FR to the body starts to dry and crack. These cracks let in water and it only gets worse. I haven't seen too mmany others with this problem but they are out there. The last and from what I understand FINAL approach...is to let the dealership start cutting the rear fenders and the top off and then reinstall. Hope that helps.......

I see you have a 2001Z. Bottom of the rear window corner, closest to the doors, the rubber seal flexes up because of the contour of the body, and how it raps around the glass. Almost 100% sure that is where your problem may be. Have it on mine. Put a little black silicone behind the rubber window molding and taped it down till it dried. Problem fixed, at least for me.
