All,
As I was enjoying a nice warm day today and heading back to the office after lunch. Well, I had a 911 Carrera mess with my slow 01 Z06???? I was at a light and a small black car pulled up with the normal stares but then I noticed some harsh sneers. The guy launched hard and shocked me as I did not encourage it at all. I caught up and turned off the ac and rolled down the windows for the next light, pointed straight and waited. I launched this time, showed him my tail lights and by 3rd he changed lanes behind me and I said ok and we where like 3 or 4 car lengths. I could not help it guys I swear and he made me do it O YEA and then I woke up from my nap :blueangel:
DO all you guys get the same agressiveness from other cars too? Yesterday it was a 600 cc Yamaha with a clutch popped wheelie from 1st to 2nd, today a 911, Sunday, a mean sounding F body. I drive very calm too and only have fun when it is safe and alone. I did order a VaraRam from Exit 28 and would have got Stingers if he had them in stock. :nopity
Anyone in the area going to the track Thursday????
:flag
Used to happen all the time in the Coupe because I went where I knew I'd
find trouble, even though I wasn't necessarily looking to race. :D
I haven't had anyone pull up next to me in the new Z. However, I've been
aware of what's around me and tried to avoid any stop light confrontations. I
guess I'm slowing down in my old age. I'd rather run it on a road course
anyway. The straight line stuff doesn't do it for me anymore.

No. I don't get the same response since installing the B&B Bullets. I guess they sound too bad to mess with. No more tailgating either. It was worth putting them on for these unexpected side effects.
I had some fun with a 2002 911 in malibu. He really liked the Z06 after i whooped on him :) Great guy though, wish i could find more people who are car enthusiasts and not so damn selective. His had about 22k miles on it, looked great! It was fast for a N/A 3.6 liter. I also get a ton of ricers after me. Most of them are nice people and i wave and smile, some give me the finger so i smoke them :reddevil . I rarely instigate most of this btw :jester
I gues it is time for some bullets then eh??? :D I have a guy who wqorks for me who has an F body and full exhaust and yes it sounds nice and he runs 12.9s and he is begging me to go and run. I would much rather find a road coarse and I hear from my gf cryropractor (new 350Z) that VIR is nice amd very technical. I rode bikes for years and the twisties do it for me, but the Z is sooooooo good in the turns I realy can not push it on the streets...
Bikes, now there is another story as there are a ton here, mostly *** but do have a friend of a friend who bought a new Aprilia Mille R when he got back.. SO my question is this:
About how big can a Z go at the track with a bike, 750 or 1000? I know Hyagusas (no idea how to spell that...) have huge top ends and from my experiance a bike is realy hard to launch hard on. Anyone do a track time in the Carolinas or Georgia???? Thanks!!!
Dave

Not very big, unless it's a Harley. The Harleys are probably the slowest big bikes out there. The *** bikes are very quick and all of the big sport bikes come on strong on the big end. Even the 600s are pretty quick, high 11s stock maybe. And a Hyabusa? Forget it! They run low 10s and high 9s right off the showroom floor.

You could probably take a bike on a highway roll depending on how much road you had because they top out at around 150. Or they did when I had my 2001 R6 anyway. They will run low 11s at over 120mph though.
I havent had anyone try to race me yet. Just some ricers rev as I pass them.
You might be able to take a small (600 or smaller) sport bike on a highway roll. But any of the bad boy big bore sport bikes would be very hard to run with. The Hayabusa for instance has a top end somewhere around 200mph right off the showroom floor.

Re: 911 today why? (chiefDave)
A friend of mine has a 911 Carrera. He has been saying that he thinks he can take me, if not straight up, he'll take me off the light. Tuesday night on the way home from hockey I had to set him straight. I spun a bit on the top of first, but by then the race was OVER!!!! :D :steering: :chevy

I was not impressed with the 911 off the line either and man your Z looks nice... I need about 10 more coats of Zanio I gues :)
Today I saw a realy nice new yellow GTO and yup he wanted some too. I think is a Fayettnam thing as later a Hyndai reved on me at a school crossing with cops and kids in it???? :nono:
Anyways thanks for all the responses and I love this car. My VaraRam did not come in yet and I am checking UPS now so I might have time to go to the track tonight and post some before and after times.
Dave
Small world... I went by the SAME 911 yesterday and he waved and gave me the thumbs up. I was next to him in a club later and man he was awed by the Z and asked what motor ect... Turned out to be a realy nice guy and loved the Z. I did put in the Vararam yesterday and it feals stronger, but man that was a pain  Next up bullets yes?
Dave
What's funny to me is that everything under the sun tries to beat me off a light but, the cars that might have a better chance at running me are afraid to even look over at me! :banghead:
You left out 9.5 1/4 mile time on the Busa too. Wouldn't even be a race. Guy I work with has one. He pulls the front wheel off at 100+ as he goes by.
