I have a 2003 ZO6. I've noticed that sometimes when I make a left turn on uneven ground, such as where there is an intersection of two crowned streets thus creating a dip, I hear a pop from the left rear wheel area. Maybe something is reseating. Anyone heard of this? Is it normal? I went to the dealer a couple of times and they couldn't reproduce it. They saw nothing wrong and hadn't heard of this either.
I'm new to C5s and I'm not really sure what's inside the rear end of a C5, but what you discribed kinda sounds like limited slip clutch chatter. On the older limited slip rear ends you might get this chatter after driving the car long enough to warm the rear end up a little. Then when you turn a corner you would get a clunk clunk clunk or a rumble while turning.
GM used to sell a positraction additive that would usually clear it up. On one car I had to change the rear end lube and use two bottles of the additive before it cleared up.
I'm not sure if that's what you're hearing, but it's a possibility.
