I had some mods done recently (cam, heads worked, headers, pcm calibrated) and I am disappointed by the dyno torque numbers, which indicated 403 RWT at about 5500rpm. Really, I didn't get any indicated increase in torque until about the 5500 rpm over stock figures. What the hey! I was certainly wanting the torque increase to be at a much more useable rpm range. The cam was 228/228 .588/.588 112. Any comments?
Well you opened up the heads and opened up the exhaust. That usually relates to less TQ and usually more HP. The cam is certainly a factor as well. Give guys some time to answer. Have you posed this question in the engine/mods section?? Gearheads abound in there.
What was the dyno run before the mods? Was it done on the same dyno? That is surely needed for the sake of consistency.

Good luck with your search.
:iagree:
You can sometimes get back the low end torque by using a cam that allows retiming. A senior moment has taken over, and I forget whether you want to advance the cam or retard it...
403rwtp is pretty good...i have similar mods and tq and when having work done i asked tuner to help me not lose low end tq...after install and tuning RPM overlaid pre and post dyno charts and i had more tq across the full rpm range, same for hp.... i assume tuning helped.
Those actually sound like good tq numbers. :yesnod: I'm not sure what you are referring to as far as stock tq...the numbers would not have been anywhere close to that.
