I am potentially going to buy a new z06 from a forum dealer out of state. I live in pa where we dont need front plates. the dealer is out of state and the car has the front plate option. Is this easy to remove or are there screw holes there which I cant cover up?
Most likely the front plate frame will just be in the trunk when you get the car but if not make sure you get the front filler plate that says corvette on it when you purchase the car and it is held in by 2 screws at the bottom that you cant notice until you get very close.
All new C5's come with the front plate cover. In fact most likely the dealership already put it on the car. The plate adapter frame should be in the trunk.
all new vettes come with the front filler plate which is color coded with your paint and says corvette on it. there are no exposed holes.
if you do need a plate in your state, you need to get a "front license plate frame". with this frame, you first remove the filler that says corvette and then use the front license plate frame to hold your front plate. the front license plate frame is "U" shaped. they are not always included with new cars. you can buy one from the dealer parts dept for $15. it is black and not color coded.
there is another plate frame for the rear that is included with all vettes. this is a black surrond for the rear plate that is rectangular. it snaps over/around the rear plate.
