So how much would a set of these tires for a Z06 cost? I was told these are the standard tires used...
Goodyear Eagle F1 SC
Front P265/40ZR17
Rear P295/35ZR18
If you guys have found better tires or tires that are a better deal please let me know...
check out the kuhmo ecsta mx, ive heard its a great bang for the buck tire compared the the F1SC.
yep KUMHO's, on my 2nd set already :hurray:
2nd set already???? and on a 02 Z06. Do the kumo tires have any longevity to them, or are you just driving  fast?
BOTH! I put 20K miles on them this yr and 8 high speed events-I switched from the F1's because I drive to DE events and needed a street tire that could also handle the rain AND be sticky on the track
I like the Toyo Proxes T1-S tires. Got a great hookup and got them for $850.
They lack the dry tracktion of the F1's and the Khumos, but they are the best for wet traction. They also have a higher treadwear rating so they should last a little longer. Since I drive mine daily, I need to know that I can do 70 on wet roads and not worry about it.
Just my $0.02
I just got an Eckler's catalogue in the mail. They advertised the Goodyear Eagle F1 SC tires (factory tire for Z06) as $269.99 for the front (each), and $284.99 for the rear (each). Seems to be a pretty good price from what I've seen.
They are the best tires you can get for dry traction short of going to a racing tire. However, if you drive your Z06 in the rain often you would be better off with the Kuhmos, Michelin Pilot Sports, or Toyo's.
The B'stone Potenza SO-3, The GoodYear F1-SC, the Kumho MX, the Michelin Sport PS-2, and the Pirelli Pzero Nero are ALL rated the same at 220. How and where you drive will be the difference in the overall wear.
Just my $.02
