Usually my commute is relatively uneventful, with the occasional unsolicited challenge from a riced out Accord or Civic. Today was different however. I looked in my rear view and noticed a red Ram coming up at a pretty good clip. I could see the big hood scoop and that made me realize that this wasn't just any Ram. I pulled out behind him and proceeded to follow him. He took off when he saw me behind him, so I dropped to 4th then 3rd when I realized this was going to be a good run. He moved over and kept it floored, but it was no match for the Z06. We went again a couple miles down the road from a 60 roll, he jumped me a little bit but it didn't take long to catch and pass him. The truck looked awesome on 22s, it had a very agressive stance going down the road and totally dwarfed my Z06. The thing definitely moved out well, especially at lower speeds. I would love to try one out someday
You shouldn't have had any problems leaving him, they are slow as poopie for the power they make, WAY too heavy. You'd have more trouble with a Ford Lightning than a SRT-10 Ram.
I met the guy with the truck and he is 21!!! He has been to Afgahnistan and Iraq, all in his firts few years of service. He saved his $ for athe better part of 2 years. Very nice guy too. I am just happy for him. :flag

As far as the 'GM low technology' discussion goes--
Maybe because I work in IT it affects my judgement, but I tend to lead towards lagging a little behind the group with the newer stuff, simply because with more technology and complexity comes more problems. The current "old" design has proven to be very effective in making power, having clean emissions, and getting good gas mileage. I'm not in a hurry for GM to move to overhead cams in all motors. I say let the rest get the bugs out and then work it in. Not to mention most of the DOHC V8s out there lack low end torque---they are setup to breathe at high RPMs to take advantage of all that valvetrain. Would not be near as much fun to drive IMO. You know the saying..."if it ain't broke....." LOL
