[Z06] new car smell question

That smell is caused by a substance called phthlates. Not very good for humans or for that matter mammals.

If you keep the carpet vacuumed, and the dash and seats clean, don't smoke or eat in the car, it can smell like new for a long time. Also - keep your windows up even in hot weather, and you'd be surprised how long the smell will last. My 00 coupe still smells like new!

"01 with 44k and just the other day I gave someone a ride and they commented on it smelling newer than my 01 firehawk with only 11k on it??? I think alot of it goes with not transporting or eating food in the car and using good cleaner without overbearing fruity fragrances..........

My '02 Z06 will be three years old in May and it still smells like new.
How long the smell lasts depends on how you care for the car, where you garage it, and where you store it. I don't allow food in mine.
