I'm not able to tell you much about the Hypertech but you might use this for comparison. I've recently had a Vinci Boss cam installed and I bought the Vinci Programmer some of the features are changing the speedometer for gears or different size tires, you can read codes and remove them from the PCM, it has 6 programs for different cam profiles, you can adjust the timing and fuel curve up or down by a maximum of 10%, adjust rpm and it is adjustable for using larger injectors. One feature that I like is the ability to reinstall the stock settings. I noticed a big difference in power after the cam install and a even bigger power and drivability change after the tuner installation. The tuner cost $459 it's the best tool for me. that's my oppinion, hope it helps.

It will allow you to raise the rev limit to 7,100 by 100RPM's; Set fan temps for lower thermostat; computer upgrade is about 5 HP; you can change tire of gears and adjust both. There are other features I can't remember but a dino tune/good shop would do more.
