My ms Z06 arrived this afternoon after it's 2,532 mile trip from Karl Tyler Chevrolet in Missoula, MT. Aside from some bug splatter which easily washed off it is Flawless. Thanks to Hans for letting me know about them. Steve Edgar the salesman I dealt with was the best. And a great big thanks to Ritchie the independent hauler that keep in frequent contact with me through the whole trip. His Co. name is Tymes Two Transport out of Ocoee,FL.I got lucky and got the best in the business first try, and highly recommend him to anyone transporting a vehicle. Now the fun begins I put 41 miles on the odo tonight and put her away. I have alot of reading to do to figure out out the bells and whistles. What an awesome machine!!! I made the right choice Ragtop
Great choice on two counts, the Z and the color. First mod needs to be a Column Lock By-Pass. Thunder Racing sells one for $55 and it's a plug and play kit. Hardest part is removing the drivers side knee bolster. The actual by-pass should take 5 seconds.
Let the mods begin.

PS: Don't forget to wave at the C4's, they think we are snobs.
That's great! You will love the car! Congrats! Mine is 3 weeks old with ~800 miles. Wait until after break in .... you will not believe what it will be like
Tom, can you explain? On the occasional time i looked at the C5 section when I had my 88 I remember reading something about the column bypass. Can you explain it to me and also about the skip shift eliminator.
Or anything else I should have done right away. Thanks, Jim
The column lock on the vette is a device known to frequently fail because of poor design , implementation or whatever. There have been previous recalls on it and new ones have been issued.
If the column lock sticks, it will leave you stranded. You might be able to fix it with various tricks like shaking the wheel and turning it side to side... but you will most likely need a tow and have the dealer fix it which will only be temporary. Or you can, like myself and many on here, install a bypass device which disables the lock and fools the computer into thinking its working so no codes are set.
The CAGS is a device which guides the gear shift from 1st to 4th under certain conditions. It happens when you are going slow when starting off... GM did this to get a better fuel economy rating.. The system is crap and is easily bypassed... You can by a resistor with the correct connectors and install it in a few minutes... works greath

Sorry to steal the thread here. I'm about to take the plunge on a new 04 QS or Black Z.
On the column lock thing-a-ma-jiggy. How can we find out if our car has had the new and improved device installed before we buy it?
