Default Just got back from Indianapolis

Well I just got back from Indianapolis. The F1 Grand Prix was excellent. Though Ferrari won again it was still a lot of fun. The Porsche GT3 challenge was also amazing to watch. The sounds were to the point of orgasmic. 20 porsches and F1 cars red lining....what else could be better hehe. Now I can't wait until next year. Also I smoked a yellow testerossa while I was there. The Z did me proud. I guess the new supercharger helped hehe.

I was there too. Sat in the H section at the far end of the main straight.

You are so correct about the noise. Those that watch on TV get nothing like the real thing. The scream of 900+ HP @ 18,000 RPM is indescribable. And the ability of the F1 cars to brake and turn is unreal.

I concluded that Michael S and those guys are insane. At one of the practice sessions, I was standing on the back-straight overpass as two of the F1 cars went under side by side. Hole Sh-- Batman. It gave me goose bumps.

I was in the North Vista Section during the GP and saw the mixup on the first lap. It reminded me of a NASCAR race. With all the finese, these boys bang it up just like those at Daytona. I give them credit with their big $$$ machines. Otherwise very interesting race. Last one I saw was at Watkins Glen back in the 70's.

Great weekend for me since I visited Bowling Green and Talladega on the same trip. At the Dega I saw new model Harleys being tested and an unrestricted Nextel Cup car doing 200mph plus on the back stretch.

I always go to indy 500 trials and practice. I drove down to drive by the track on saturday just to listen to cars from outside the track. Awesome! I then spent some time at the circle for the concours. Even with the exotics driving around town I still got looks at my eb zo6. It was very festive that night. There must have been a couple of GM people in town that night also. They were driving around the downtown area in a c6 silver convertible for most of the hour or so that I spent walking around the area.

Did anyone else see the C6 vert driving around outside the track? I wouldn't have been surprised to see a coupe, but the verts won't be out for a while.

I think it was 2 years ago, an SSR parked next to us at the track before they were available.
