Congrats & good luck!

Hi dan-t -
You say one wheel has a wider lip...that would not be right.
Wheels absolutely need to be matched side to side, as do tires.
As stated by the other posts - the '01s and a few early 02's came originally equipped with forged alloys, all the rest of the Z06 production were equipped with spun-cast wheels made in Italy by Speedline. These later wheels have small pockets cast into the back side of some of the spokes, and also sport the speedline logo.
The 02 wheels have a lighter tone of gun-metal color than the darker 01 wheels, and they are lighter in weight that the earlier wheels.
The sizing is the same throughout the production - with the fronts in 17"x9.5" and the rears in 18"X10.5".
I cannot say how the traction control would be affected by a wider wheel on one side of the rear of the car, if it would be affected at all.
I would expect a tendancy to kick to one side under agressive acceleration with a mis-matched wheel setup on the rear.
Good luck!
best regards -
