[Z06] Door panel/window rattle
Thanks,
Chris
2002 Quicksilver Z06
I took off my driver's door panel in order to prep it for the dealer when replacing the DCM, and when I was putting the door panel back on I noticed that there was a rattling sound when I hit the panel to set the pins. I don't think that the tech messed with any adjustments, since the window fits just as it did before when it is all the way up, but you never know. Also, there is no excessive play in the window in the fully raised position.
It only rattles when the window is all the way down, and I have to actually hit the door panel with my hand or close the door to make it rattle. If I raise the window just enough so it is even with the top of the weatherstripping, it no longer rattles. Also, when comparing the driver's side to the passenger side, the passenger side window sits deeper in the door than the driver's side (about 1/4 - 1/2" difference). I don't know if this has any affect, but I just thought that I would mention it.
I did a search, but could not find any info on fixing my specific problem. Does anyone have any tips/ideas on fixing the rattle? Also, I made sure that the metal clips at the top of the door panel fit tightly on the door lip (I bent tham with pliers to make them tighter, but this did not help the rattle).
Also, neither the door nor the panel rattle separately, the rattle exists only when the panel is installed on the door.
Thanks,
Chris
