Since the new C6 came out with the in-dash LCD I started looking again for a similar unit for my 2000. Found this unit which is a option for those of us looking to replace our factory head units.
pm or email me and i will tell you what software you need to run on that. I did something like this on my '97 Cobra. Lets see how long it takes for you to realize who this is
Awesome! Id love to do something like this. Hope you have dark tint and good alarm.
I've got about 6K in stereo equipment in my Yukon. I've left the vette completely stock because I'm afraid as a convertible, it's too accessible. At least with the Yukon and over 15" of lift, it's kinda hard to see screens, cameras, dvd's, etc....
very cool... i'm doing the same thing, about 75% done
you should drop winamp and run a better all in one front end... i'm using (going to use once my install is complete) centrafuse... check it out www.fluxmedia.com It's really slick and touchscreen friendly.... and it's free. Dave; the guy who wrote the software is really helpful and he's writing an obd-ii interface for that front end. Great part about it is that everything is 'skinnable' which will let you customize the interface and have it look how ever you want.
Hey ramcharger,
Did you use the 7" lilliput? I'm very curious, because the research I've done shows that the screen alone (without the housing) for a 7" is 4.25" high. The 1.5 DIN slot in the dash is 3.5".
Are my numbers wrong? I really want to do this, but I definitely don't want to hack my dash apart. My goal is to be able to return it to stock form if needed.

Your calculations are not wrong... there's a little hacking involved.
I went with the 7" initially, but then converted to the 8" after moving the HVAC unit down.
Thanks for the info.... What kind of hacking was involved when you had the 7"? Do you have any pics of your setup?
I have some pics... my setup is not done yet, although I've been running a few months with it. i'll get a couple of pics from my test fits together after I put my son down for the night.
