Default What Should I do?

I have an 01 Coupe A4 3:15 with 18K miles.
1SC package with HUD and polished wheels.

I found an 02 Mag Red II /tan interior with every option, MN6
with only 1900 miles at a local dealer. He bought it from
another local Porche dealer that was a trade in.

This car has not been driven and is superb.

The dealer is asking market price and is obviously ready to
deala bit.

I know I would take a hit on trading or selling my car outright
but if I could get with $4-5K difference, should I do it?

I really want a 6 speed.

Help me out here...George

At this point I'd wait for a C6. If you simply must have a M6 C5 then make the best deal you can and go for it!!

IMO you should Go For It, especially if you want a 6 speed. The '02 is basically a new car and worth the difference in price.

Hi, With all the NEW C5's at the Chevy Dealers and a $4000.00 cash bonus you should buy a brand new 04, why buy used when a new Corvette is cheaper, just my two cents.Good Luck, Save the Wave.>George

Default new corvette

This is the Best time for everyone to trade up to a new 04. With the $4000.00 cash bonus Corvette owners with older C5's can trade for almost nothing, cheaper than buying a new clutch and tires.Save the Wave.>George

If you can make the right deal then I would consider it. Get the Vin and have the repair history checked as well as a car fax. Then if you can make the right deal then do it. But just like was mentioned before, you can buy a new one that the dealers are offering heavy discounts on. Maybe near the same asking price. Good luck whatever you decide.

Ummmm. Yep.

That was my 2 cents the first time I posted it. Now you want more?

You do know I have my own mods to feed. How can I possibly afford a new High Performance Hood Seal and support your new car, too?

As long as your not upside down on your current loan, I'd say go for it. But, sell your car don't trade it. I doubt you can hit your target $ difference by trading it. If you price your car at KBB private party you will sell it pretty quickly, and still get more out of it than trading it in.

I would almost agree but there is a crapper full of used C5's on the
market right now and I see how difficult it is to get close to top $$$
for them. I also have to factor in the sales tax difference of a trade
vs. the outright sale. I did a KBB comparison and we're about $6-8K
difference. My car's paid for so a loan is not an issue.

As far as new? The GM rebates and dealer anxiousness to get rid of
existing inventory is tempting, but "new" is getting scarce as well.
Plus, this 02 is loaded...F55 suspension, dual tops, 6 sp., polished
wheels, HUD, etc. Those tempting <$40K cars from dealers are base units.

The absolute numbers are of no the real concern, just the difference.
As I said, a $4-5K delta makes it worthwhile considering I was just
about to spend $$$ for an interior enhancement and headers and wheels
and tires.

Thanks...George

Maybe my Sig will help you make up your mind

But seriously, if you can work a deal that you are happy with, then I'd say go for it. If you look at the inventories in the C5's For Sale section, I don't see any '04 Mag Red 6-Speeds left. It's a relatively rare and popular combo, IMHO.

Good luck in your decision.
