Just discovered heavy gear oil leaking from somewhere in the rear of my 99' coupe which has 24K miles on it. Any guesses before I take it to the dealership? I've put less than 1K miles on this newly purchased car, & i think I've been had!
Just take it in for the fix. My '99 has been in twice for this -- and it only has 21K miles. They have got a service bulletin now, so they should be able to fix it right the first time for you.

Hope you have an extended warrantee, though!
Had mine done about this time last year. It's been great ever since.
Mine was leaking from the left side axle cover plate that bolts to the rear end housing. The third bolt up was where the fluid was coming. It would drip onto the top of the Stabilizer bar and also would drip onto the garage floor. Since they resealed it, There has been no leaks. If I recall researching the left side leak is common.

Sounds like the differential seal. Check on the left side of the car and see if you can tell where the leak is coming from. Mine has gone bad three times.
