Default Resonator question. (make car louder)

I want to make my car louder, especially at idle and normal driving. I ordered some 4'' GHL magnums. But I feel that this is not enough. I do not have money for headers and such, so I was wondering if I could just remove the resonators, also I saw loudmouths but I assume those would not pass smog or be legal in Socialist California. thanks -Mike

Hmmm, well, I'm 90 percent ready to get some loudmouths and i'm also in Southern Cali (san diego) so I really need to hear if these will pass smog?

Removing the resonators should make the car louder - don't know if you will end up with a car that is too loud though. Maybe someone who has done this can give you some idea of just what the car would sound like.

Just skip the GHLs and add cutouts to your midpipe. Really loud and really cheap.

I dont want it to sound like a supped up vw bug, or any ricer loud, I want it to sound like those transams and camaros that are loud but a very loud gurgle rather than a scream for help. What will these cut outs do? Are you talking about the aanda or something else? Will removing the resonators make it do what I want? Thanks.

I would recommend electric cutouts. By what you're describing, you will get the sound you want with cutouts. Plus, you can close and open them at will and anywhere in between, depending on the situation . I have them on my stock Z06 exhaust and they make the car ROAR when open.
