I was driving into work today and came to a stop at a red light. All of a sudden my car sorta bogged down... CHECK ENGINE light came on along with REDUCED ENGINE POWER on the DIC. Then the light turned green... I proceeded. Creeping along I pulled into a parking lot and shut the car off... looked around under the hood. I had to get to work so I started it back up... now it runs normal but the CHECK ENGINE light is still on. I need to drive home tonight... about 40 km (mostly highway)... any advice? Should I drive it home? Has anyone ran into this problem? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
You absolutely need to check your error codes using the DIC. There are directions on how to do this on the forum. Write down the codes and post them on the forum. The Check Engine light can either be serious or a nuisance. It depends on the codes.
I accidently erased the codes.... before I wrote them down. I took the car for a 10 min drive to see if they would come back but nothing... back to normal. I guess I will have to wait and see on the drive home.

How do you check the codes via DIC? This morning on the way to work my check engine light came on, but i did not notice any power losee or anything and no message was displayed on the DIC

I had a similar problem - it would come and go. Turned out to be a loose coil wire on one of the cylinders... does that make sense? Sorry, it's been a while... It was diagnosed by the Chevy Corvette Mechanic. Not sure what codes I had - at the time I didn't know anything about codes.
During my lunch break i flipped through the manual and it kept pointing to fuel related issues. To make a long story short, the gas cap was not fully secure. Don't mind me, i'll go put the stupid hat on and sit in the corner. Thanks for the quick replies!
