I'm still new to this but my Z06 hit the road yesterday and I had to do the obligatory rides for various friends. On one of the circuituous routes, I gave it a bootful in second and the traction control light came on and the DIC started shouting "Service Active Handling", "Service Traction Control" and remained in that mode until I pulled over, turned off the ignition and restarted the car. After that it was fine. Anyone else had this? The car only has 3900 miles on the clock.
No idea how to pick up a code I'm afraid. One interesting point is that after unlocking the car with the remote and getting in, the electric windows didn't work and the memory seats didn't work. After I stopped and restarted, everything worked again. Weird.
I had this same problem after I cleaned my aifilter in my VaraRAm. I had not tightened the airbridge to the TB enough and it had worked loose. When I went WOT, it threw the same messages and I don't remeber the codes. After I re-installed everything corectly, everything is fine.I hope it is something that easy and simple. Do a search for DIC and then pull the codes and see what is going on, and re-set them. Good luck!

"I had the EXACT same problem 2 months ago on my 03Z at about 25k mi. however mine also took out use of my driver door control panel. Took it to Pete Moore Chevrolet in Pensacola, FL and they fixed it. It was a bad wiring harness going to the door they replaced it and I have not had any more problems."
i also had the same service warnings on my '03 z -- only mine was a bad sending unit between the gas tanks (just before the DIC went nuts, the gas gauge went to zero -- otherwise i might still be probing!)
bottom line: any kind of wiring/grounding problem can cause the "Service Active Handling", "Service Traction Control" messages. pulling the codes and letting your dearler know all of the symptoms -- 'specially "after unlocking the car with the remote and getting in, the electric windows didn't work and the memory seats didn't work" -- may pay off

Retrieve the codes from the D.I.C. Do not delete them yet!
Press and hold "Options" and then press "Fuel" 4 times while still holding the "Options" button. A message will appear saying Diagonstics then it will automatically read off the codes. To exit the Diagonstic menu press the "English/Metric" button.

A loose airfilter assembly might throw a "Service Engine" error, but it is not going to throw a "Service Active Handling" error.

I've had an occasional similar experience. Twice in four years in 2 different C5s. Afterwards, never had another issue or problem in either car. Weird. But a reboot seems to cure it. Wonder if Microsoft sources any of the software?
sorry I was not specific, as it threw many errors, like a flashing check engine, service active handling, service traction control and reduced power mode. It was way loose and almost fell off. I can't belive I missed it and drove it like that way, but it was dark and I was full of Iraqi freedom rotaion one bravado. I hope it is not serious. RB are you going to the fes? I would love to see a good driver at the 1/4 as I suck but am having fun trying to get better. Have a great day!

Well I checked the codes and there's nothing current bar the disabled DRL's which aren't legal in the UK. The other codes aren't specified so I've posted it on Corvette Doctor. I'm happy that whatever it was is now historic.

Seems like there have been a rash of these lately on the forum. I just got this with a C1214 in the DIC. Costing me $1600 in parts (under warranty praise the Lord)
I bought my 98 used. Although it has Active Handling, I've never seen a warm up lamp, or heard any pumps or brake noise. Could it just not be working. Pressing the button will generate AH off/on and the competitive driving feature.
I have had the same thing happen to me several times. Although, throw in Service ABS also. A few time it happened on the way to the track in cruise control and then again on the track (multiple times). But, it has never happened anywhere else. Go figure!
I have heard that if you have stainless steel brake lines, this may happen. I am taking it in next week for some other warranty work. I will get it checked out as well.
