Default Blackwing Coupler Question

I picked up a used Blackwing for a pretty good price. When I tried to install it on my '99 FRC, I noticed that a coupler didn't come with the Blackwing. No, I'm not talking about the 2001+ coupler/reducer. I'm talking about the coupler from the filter itself to the MAF.

Does anyone know where I can pick one up? Or can an alternate be used?

TIA.

If I remember, mine new did not come with a coupler. I just used the stock one. But, I would have to check when I get home. Its been a about three years since I did the change and my memory just isn't what it used to be.

I thought I could use the existing coupler from the OEM air box, but the two dimensions are different.

The pictures from all the installs I've read about show a coupler coming with the Blackwing. I know about the newer Vettes needing an additional coupler, but I have '99.

Anyone have an extra coupler?

Yes, the Blackwing comes with a coupler. There are two different ones, a black one for pre '01 and a blue one for '01 and later. You might be able to find someone here who has one. Otherwise, call one of the forum vendors that sells the Blackwing and see if you can buy just the coupler.

See if LAPD.com will help you. They sell the filter.

I don't see the Blackwing for sale on their site. It couldn't hurt to contact them anyway.

Thanks for the idea.

Default coupling

I purchased a used blackwing for my 01 coupe and it had no coupling, but I called Mid America and got one for I think $12.99. They might have the coupling you need also.
