[Z06] Strange noise

Strange noise
I searched around the forum... but got a load of possibilites. Here is my problem... 01 Z, no codes. At idle, I am hearing what I best can describe as a pop,pop,pop or a bump, bump, bump (very faint) that is coming from the engine from what I am able to tell. I think I can almost feel it faintly to in the car. I am not sure if it gets more intense with RPMs due to the exhaust and normal engine sounds overtaking it. The car seems to feel a bit off under accel, but that could be my imagination.
What do you think this noise is? Knock realted, misfires, exhaust leak? The car is under warranty, so I will probably end up taking it to the dealer Just trying to get some ideas..

Yeah, its not clutch/torque tube/rearend related. It almost sounds as if little, faint fireworks going off in the engine or exhaust. Not very loud though, you have to be listening for it.

Spark pulgs, plug wires, exhaust leak, belt, something loose, just check every possible thing systamatically. My experience with dealers tells me they won't have a clue, and will not want to do anything to find out what it is. Another thing, their hearing is usually very bad.

Yeah, that is what I expect out of the dealer... I have a headlight motor that needs replacement under warranty to I have to take it in anyway. I don't think it is pistion slap, since it is not really a rhythmic sound, more random....
