When I bought my used 01 coupe it has a... CABLE, COAXIAL ANTENNA EXTENSION (REAR WINDOW) Can someone tell me what this was or is used for?or should I have it removed?
C5 coupes have antennas in both the front and rear windows. The coax cable is from the antenna to the receiver. If you want to listen to your radio - leave it in.
Either that or it is for those long drives during football season so you can bring the big screen along and not miss a minute of that important game...
well behind the passenger seat there is a coax end that is un plugged.
my radio sounds fine.Just so we ar on the same page it's a little antenna that is mounted high on my rear glass and it sticks up.Are we sure it's for the stock radio?

There is no external antenna on a stock C5 coupe. Someone must have had XM installed at some point, is my guess.

WEIRD!!! I just bought an 01 Z06 and I had a coax cable running down the passenger side, stopping near the rear window and the other end was coiled up at the passenger footwell next to the fuse panel. I pulled it out and the wire is now sitting in the garage. I have no idea what this could have been used for.
