Very reasonable here in FL. I believe its determined by weight and I think I paid around $40-45. When I lived in IN, it was very expensive. Based on value of vehicle and I remember paying around $300.00 for a 1996 Monte Carlo in 1997. Glad I didn't own the vette then. Always hated this system. It penalizes someone for owning a new car, when someone with an old/heavy SUV is paying alot less and doing more damage to the roads and creating more pollution--go figure.
I can see paying 60-80 per year for registering your car but what is the deal with the rates states charging high dollar? Maybe someone from AZ can chime in.
I agree with the comment regarding Indiana auto registration, I have one vehicle that I register in that state and the expense is very very high, around $500 and that is PER YEAR. I don't want to get started on property tax that is another sore point. I may finish pulling up stakes soon.
I paid $878 in November for my 2000 vert (Our former govenor had just tripled the cost of registration prior to mine coming due). Not to worry, I got a little over $500 back when Arnold threw out the new law when he got into office. Still paid approx. $360.
My 2002 Escalade was $524 this year. And my 2001 S10 was $198. Totally NUTS!!!!!
About $35 for registration in Coshocton county, Ohio and vanity plate is $40 extra in all Ohio. $75 extra charge for not having front plate
I think I'm going to skip the Vette vanity plate for next year. Renewing 3 registrations with two vanity plates (total of around $200 a year) is getting kinda steep.
California is 1 big parking lot. Politicians recognized that and now the meter running is the Department of Motor Vehicles and gasoline taxes. Are the highways and freeways better off from all that tax revenue? No. Instead, our previous Governor dumped that money into the General Fund and used those funds to buy his way out of the Electricity rate fiasco forcing CA's economy into a spiraling red hole. There is no reason why any person should pay an average $400.00 (it was $800.00) a year for new automobile registration fees. Politicians caused the urban sprawl in CA by approving new construction and rezoning older properties. They then get on TV to brag about all the new jobs created but never take the responsibility for all the havoc caused from those decisions. Consequently, many residents are forced to commute 100's of miles to work because they cannot afford to live near work. Poor management in Government is not an excuse for increasing fees and making everyone suffer as it trickles down the economic food chain.
