Here are my feelings. I have 2003 Z .. It used to have the neat exhaust jiggle and doesn't any more. Car is stock. It seems however so slight to be alittle less powerful . The car has about 4100 miles on it and have had it since last Oct. It used to alway hae an exhaust pop on startup .. I maybe just carzy but it just seems alittle down on its orginal power. I have not tried to see if any code are availabe. Maybe its just the very warm weather here in Arkansas. Got an ideas ?? It runs fine other than my feeling of power loss.

very warm weather is a variable in how the car performs and the hotter it is outside, there will be noticable power loss. i am not sure about popping and jingling, but there will be a loss.
if you want peace of mind, spend fifty bucks and throw it on a dyno.
I don't think you are necessarily "down on power." More than likely you have just gotten use to the stock power. Now it's time to add either an S/C or some H/C and get to the new power level.
I had thought of that too about getting used to the car. It very well maybe that. She will still scream when I get on it but maybe you all are right. To be sure I might take her to a dyno and have settings looked at. Thanks ....

But what do you compare the numbers to, some one else's dyno run, or what? There is no real base line. If he dyno's then he has a baseline to compare to in the future.
1. Your neural circuits have become accustomed to the power.
2. Warmer air, these engines are sensitivity to heat and lose power with hot air in the intake.
3. PCM has taken off timing due to knock. You probably won't hear it, but the knock sensor will. Use the best, high octane gas you can. You can also get a tuner to advance your tables, probably good for 10-15 hp. (this was the case for my coupe).
12. Some problem with the engine (highly doubtful).
If you really want to know, get a dyno and a tune. I had mine done at Total Engine Airflow in Bowling Green and was very happy with both the job and the price.
I've got a '98 Z28 and after I drove my Z06, I knew the Z06 was faster. I think it was the third time I drove it that I thought "This needs more power". Then I drove the Z28 and thought "This isn't as fast as it used to be..." I'd say you get used to it fairly quickly and the ease with which the chassis copes with the power tends to make you think the car is slower but the fact is, the chassis is better.
