Default Is this unusual?

A few months ago I bought (from a family friend) a low mileage 2K Vert. When washing the car I've noticed the left front wheel seems a little closer to the front edge of the wheel well. Low and behold, it's approx 3/8" closer to the front of the car than is the r/h wheel (passsenger) In other words it's not centered in the wheel well! I'm sure GM allows for variances in manufacturing tolerances etc. The seller swears it's never seen a body shop, and I believe him. It would probably go unnoticed unless I pointed it out. The car track perfectly and looks absolutely perfect. Has anyone else noticed this??

I have heard stories of people picking up there new cars to find out in the light of day, that it has been accidented. And to the not so learned person, probably not noticeable.
I have talked to salespersons that I trust, and they have said that there are accidents in transit to the dealerships that get repaired before the get to the dealership. And the dealership is not notified of the accident.
So what you are describing is totally feasible. I'd take it into a good alignment shop to scrutinize the chassis. And see what they have to say.
Keep us posted. And good luck. I hope there is something other than the worst case senario.

I once put my old F body into a curb sideways and wrecked all 4 rims and a spindle.Never did bring it to a bodyshop. The front wheels were the same as you describe.Maybe you should have it looked at by a mechanic for hidden damage,Tere are allowable tolerences(about the same thickness of 3 dimes...not too much!)

Like the man said it sounds like curb appeal.
