The later autos had the column lock deleted so no.
for sure '04 A4s have no lock to get stuck. Not sure about '02 and '03. To test, take the key out and try to turn the wheel. If it turns even a little bit, you will have no problems with CL. However this ONLY applys to A4s. ALL MN6s have the lock.

That's what I thought. Read Ken's latest. According to GM '04 auto's are included in the recall.

Had several messages of "Pull Key, wait 10 seconds" on my '99. But, no problems with my '00 so far. Got the CLB to install, so hopefully won't have any on the current car.
For the millionth time (well, maybe not that many), 2001,2002,2003 and 2004 automatic transmission cars do not have a steering column lock. Therefore, no steering column lock means no lock up problems. Why-Oh-Why are people who have Corvettes which fall into the above group of cars still wondering if they are going to have a lock up problem or when are they going to get a recall notice from GM??????
For what its worth, last year I had my Chevy dealer do the recall "fix" on my '98 A4. The "fix" makes it impossible for the column to lock as a plate or something is placed in the steering column making it impossible for the pin to drop into the column, which causes the lock up. Too bad the same "fix" can't be used on 6 speeds---with a M6 your only safe bet is to install a column lock bypass

There is a new thread on the Forum this morning that reports that the installation of an aftermarket CLB has caused other types of prolems. I am not advocating that the installation of a CLB is the proximate cause of any other problems. I would just suggest if anyone wants a balanced input that they read this other thread.
I have had no problems but I did install a CLB on my MN6
Mine locked up on me numerous times. After jerking the wheel off the steering column and twisting the key at the same time, she broke loose. I got sick of it and finally got the CLB.
