dont spend the 20 or 15 on the eliminator clip
i bought 5 of the 2.2 ohm .5 watt resistors for 99 cents and plugged one into the clip bingo no more cags
hahah best mod under 1 dollar

Ah, but water can get in your connector and change the resistance over time, then you will get a code.
The ones you buy (for all of $20) come with a stock, weather-proof connector.

And they also come with a plug for the solenoid to prevent
corrosion there.

NO It will not change value over time.. what 
It works fine. Mine has been there for over 4 years now.
A resistor plugged into the plug is going to get just as hot as a resistor molded(?) in a plastic plug!!
BTW, it is a 2.2Kohm resistor, 1/2watt(just so the wires fit into the plug securely).
