Just drive the car like a Corvette and the CAGS will never once get in your way. You'll never klnow it's even there if you would just drive it and stop shifting the car at 1200 rpms.

Ah, but water can get in your connector and change the resistance over time, then you will get a code.
The ones you buy (for all of $20) come with a stock, weather-proof connector.

It works fine. Mine has been there for over 4 years now.
A resistor plugged into the plug is going to get just as hot as a resistor molded(?) in a plastic plug!!
BTW, it is a 2.2Kohm resistor, 1/2watt(just so the wires fit into the plug securely).
