When I got my car, the front plate filler had been scratched and touched up,,it looked ok, but I still didnt like it. I thought I would use the front plate surround and install this killer engraved aluminum plate I had. (I know you guys dont like front plates,,just settle down)..It looked ok,, but I still thought it could be better,,plus when I had the bra on the car it had this caved in look where the plate filler used to be...I got one of those molded plate covers that have the same lines at the stock filler cover. The black surround would not fit inside of it, so I carefully sanded down the surround to fit inside and trimmed the plate to fit,,,not I have a body shaped cover over my custom plate and use the factory plate surround and have no gaps, and it looks good....If you have to run a front plate, this is the way to do it,,,

I wish you could do something like that in TX. But the law is no modifications can be made to the plate (cutting it to fit) and nothing can go over the plate (the clear plastic filler). Sigh. We just have to settle for what GM supplies if we want to be legal.
