Default Blackwing installed

I got my Blackwing installed. I've got a couple of questions though. During my installation I didn't have the "Blackwing coupler", but I did have the "Blackwing LS1 MAF adapter" (thanks to Genoz). See picture below. I hope ls1howto.com does not mind I borrowed their picture.

Everything seemed to fit OK, just a little snug. I'm thinking that snug is a good thing. Is there any reason for using the "Blackwing coupler"? Am I missing something?

Also, what is this part? It was included when I bought the Blackwing (used).

I took it for a quick ride. It seemed to rev. up quicker and have a bit more punch.

First off, the extra part is a pvc valve for a 1956 hudson hornet
Actually i think it is for vaccumning the inside of the filter.

The coupler is just the thing you wanna use. It is a snugger more rigid and better fit than the straight tube like section.

So what do you think of your new blackwing? Feel a difference yet? Somtimes takes 100 miles or so for the computer to relearn your new higher airflow. Be patient, pretty soon your gonna get a kick in the seat that is going to blow your mind

Sounds like you're good to go! Isn't it amazing? Mine was immediate. SOP I think it added hp and response.
Enjoy!

You should be fine with your install. The extra piece is a mystery to me. Didn't get one of those with my Blackwing.

The extra piece is definitely for a vacuum cleaner. I just bought one in a kit with little tiny vacuum detailing attachments from Target.

somebody the other day said that they didn't notice any difference with the blackwing!! they must have a "numb bum",because SOTP is quite evident.took my ride about 50 miles befor the computer "re-learned" it's new breathing capabilities.if you haven't already done so,your next mod should be an aftermarket exhaust...after all, you're sucking more cold air in,so you want to expel it with a minimum of effort, too!

I am going to trade my VORTEC in and get a BLACKWING too. I decided that this is the way I want to go, because I plan on going LPE superchanger package within the next couple of years and I am going to mod the way I believe I want things to be around the SC.

I've already got the Borla Stingers installed. I can't tell just yet, but I a little afraid it will make it louder. I've got to make a partition.
