Well, I am in for the week. I was punching holes in the PACIFIC OCEAN for the last month. While I was gone...
The column lock came up on the vette, my wife got it freed from that and ordered the column lock bypass from the great folks at THUNDERRACING and I just got it on a few hours ago. No more problems thanks to the great folks at THUNDERRACING.com. My wife emailed me and asked what to do and I told her to call and tell them this, "Hi, I am a wife to a guy that loves his damn corvette more than anything except me and the car got an error that said SERVICE COLUMN LOCK and I need to know what to do." and that was all she wrote, the part was orderd delivered and I installed it.
I freed the fault codes with a little help from a fourm member and nothing else has surfaced. I am pleased to again say, "CORVETTEFORUM.com has helped me out of a bind again." You guys rock!
Glad things worked out for ya. There is a guy at Wal-Mart where I work and his car was stuck in the parking lot over night because he never heard of the column lock. His manager knew I had a Vette so he asked me to come to his department and talk with him. I told him what the problem was and how to unlock it so he could get it home. The bad part of his ordeal was that he called a local Chevy dealership and they had no clue as to what he was talking about or how to correct it. Go figure! Some dealerships are really clueless.
