Last night I dropped off my Vette at the dealer. The lease is up and I decided not to buy the car. It was a sad day. Car was in great shape but the buyout price was too high. For only another $1000 I was able to pick up a new GTO, which made more sense to me.
I guess for the next couple years I'll just enjoy the GTO. Then I will get a C6.
Is it OK if I still wave? Maybe us GTO owners (all four of us) can start waving?
I'll be back!

As far as I'm concerned, it's okay to keep waving -

Sorry you gave up the Vette, but the GTO will be a nice ride too.
Keep
, you don't have to have a Vette to do that.

Condolences on giving up the Vette. I had looked at the Pontiac (GTO) before buying my C5 and never could get my hands on one to drive (or even look at). I'm not exactly sure why I gave up on it, but I'm glad I did.
I saw one for the first time on the road yesterday and somehow it reminded me of a racing Neon (seriously!) I was not impressed.
I knew what was under the hood however, so I had the necessary respect for it.
Take care and keep waving. You'll find out who knows what's in it (LS1).

Let us know about the Goat. I heard they opened up the air a bit on it. Just wondering how it will perform.
Sorry to see you loose your baby, but I understand the pitfall of the lease thang.
Here's a

Thanks for the comments. I am confident the GTO was the right choice for me--it's new and different and I really like the way it drives. It's not as fast as the Vette, nor does it handle as well, but most of my driving is simple highway droning. In that role, the GTO is superior (for me). I like the way it looks, but it isn't nearly as sexy as the Vette.
I plan to buy a Solstice next year, then I'll have the wife trade in her SC430 for a C6 vert the year after that.
