gas filter

does anyone know if some 2003's were built without a gas filter or with one in the gas tank
cant find mine anywhere

If they didn't change it in MY 2003 then it's in the same place as previous years.

thats the problem....it is NOT where it is on the 2003's i have seen.....cant find it anywhere on the car

Now that I think about it, I didn't see anywhere in the maintenance schedule where it said to replace the fuel filter at all (I have a 2004). Maybe the new fuel system that was installed beginning on the 2003 cars (built since December 2003) did away with the external filter. When was your car "born"? Does anyone else know if my speculationmay be true? Have any other late 2003 or 2004 owners been under their car and seen the fuel filter?
