Default Magnaflow vs. Corsa

Guys/Gals:

Have a question. I need opinions on likes/dislikes between the Magnaflow and Corsa cat-back exhaust systems for a 2004 Vert. Sounds/price/quality, etc. Thanks

Dave

I can only give you one side of the story. The Corsa does a very good job dealing with resonance. If you plan on taking any road trips resonance makes a 3 hour drive seem like a week!

I've got Corsa Touring w/Tigershark Tips and X-pipe. Extremely pleased with the system, quality and price.

But I'd always suggest that you listen to any systems you might be considering before buying. That means listen as in next to the car not from some website.

Then consider the appearance you want, too. There are numerous types of tips you can get from different suppliers.

Just my 2 cents, anyway.

I have Corsa Indy's with Tigershark and a Magnaflow X Pipe. (I Love IT)

Its makes the car sound like it really does have that BIG Motor. Its not obnoxious and your ears Won't Bleed after a long trip !

Any input from the Magnaflow folks??? I had a Corsa on a 94 Vert and I liked it fine. Just wondering about the Magnaflow also to see if there is any noticable differences regarding sound and resonance before I take the leap again. Thanks

I have the Magnaflow cat-back with the x-pipe on my car now. Before I installed the system, I had a mild resonance in 4th, 5th and 6th between 1700 and 1900 rpms. With the system installed I still have a mild resonance but it is now between 1400 and 1600 rpms. I have not heard the Corsa systems in person, but I do like the way the Magnaflow makes the car sound. Most others that have replaced their exhaust report no resonance after the swap with either system....

I have the Magnaflows and like them. Reasonable price, and nice (but not too loud) sound.

I have Corsa Touring. No resonance at all and great quality. Bought for $850 from LAPD. I also got the Corsa x-pipe from them too.

I got the X-Pipe with the Magnaflow, so I haven't noticed any annoying resonance. But I've heard that it can be a problem if you don't get the X-Pipe.

After all of you folks use the Magnaflow and Corsa systems, you will realize it was not the best sound...during accelleration and cruising!!

My Borla Stinger sounds the way should when accelleration and is quiet during crusing...talking, music, and even singing can be heard during cruising!!

Forget the continuous noise, get the Borla Stinger!!

That's half the reason I still have the stock mufflers on mine. I can't figure out which one is best either.

Got the Magnaflow with X-pipe on my '04. Like the sound and love the look from the rear. Some resonance in the 1200-1400 rpm range but nothing like my '92 with Flowmasters.

I can't imagine anything quieter than my Corsas during cruising, but I haven't heard anything else either, but this system sure is very quiet!!

there is no best.. Buy on looks of the tips and sound next
corsa has no resonance and designed not to at wot it is high toned screaming on the indy system that will scare the hell out of someone while it has a gurgle diesel sound at idle.

Other systems may have more of a constant drone while driving however there is no headache for sure with corsa.

You have to know if you want 4 tips or two tips and what the best look you like is. That is the easiest way to make your choice.

Good luck

You're right that it's all a matter of personal preference, but it's difficult to get correct information too.

I've heard everything from Corsa Tourings being a stock replacement system that sounds just like the stock mufflers, which means there's no point in buying them, to them being louder than Magnaflows.

Then we see comments here that Borla is quieter than both.

I've no doubt that everyone was telling me what they felt to be the straight scoop, but there's a lot of conflicting information floating around.
