I dunno either, but if you're planning on painting or such, BE CAREFUL! I just did mine and the paint is beginning to lift. I'm scared of how bad it's going to look so ... I'm shopping for a chrome dress-up kit ... for the engine ... not me.
I don't know and never thought about it. Why are you asking?
I too painted mine and had some issues so i'm doing the research I shoud have done in the first place.
This is what I've found out so far.
Different plastics take different procedures.
1. Remove the mold release agent paint won't stick to it
2.Make sure the paint has a flex agent in it or it will crack.
3.Make sure you prepare the surface Sherwin Williams makes a plastic prep kit.
4.put as little paint on as you need to cover it.
5. Before you do a final painting with your graphics put them on the engine and cook 'em for a week.
Good luck

I painted mine after I cleaned them with lacquer thinner. Then gave them a light primer coat and finished with red. The lacquer thinner didn't seem to hurt the plastic, if anything it gave the surface a slight tooth for the paint to adhere.
