Hey, to each 'is own, eh? I'm one of those weinies who can easily hear differences in speaker cables, components, etc. I save my good listening for the living room at home, and it's a valid point that we really won't hear a big difference between MP3 and CD in a "400 hp living room on wheels". I just know that when I've compared the formats in a "quiet" environment, there is no comparison in quality.

The sad part is, many kids today who are brought up on MP3 and it's ilk really have no idea how good sound can really be!

Question how do you use your MP3 player? The only one I know of that has a line out is the Ipod (can be hardwired) my player does not have this capability. Is your hardwired?

Thanks Ken
You don't need a line out. You use the headphone jack and adjust the volume of the player until the level is comfortable. They all work this way. You can go to Best Buy or similar place and buy a mini-plug to RCA jack adapter to do this.

Good for you, and glad you're happy! Enjoy. Nothing like sweet tunes and a fast car!

Default Quick question for slwhite

Thanks for the reply. Here's dumb question where do you plug the RCA jack into from the MP3 player. Is it in the back of the radio chassis? Do you have to take the console apart?

Thanks! :

You think the quality of MP3's are an issue when listening *in a car* with the crappy stock speakers? That's a joke, right?

In a quiet environment with quality equipment, sure, there's a noticable difference. But in a car? Bah...

It is not that simple. There are a number of posts on this subject. Basically you have to get a wiring harness and a converter in order to use the "aux" input of the CD changer. Look in the posts in this forum under MP3. I am in the process of doing this myself right now.

I have the gadget that plugs into my player (MP3 or Audio Cassette player) through the headphone jack. It broadcasts the tapes or mp3's to my fm stereo at 89.9 MHz.

If you are an audiophile, shiudder in revulsion now <G>. It is cheap and works pretty good for me. However, if money were no object, I would have a different stereo... one with CD and changer (more cd's the better), Cassette, FM, and an MP3 player. Oh, and, I'd really like to be able to select cd's and tracks by voice command.
